WARD GRANT - SQUIRES GATE WARD
Matter for Consideration:
To consider an application under the Ward Grant Scheme.
Information:
The Council’s budget allocated £20,000 for the 2013/14 financial year to each ward. The fund can be used by Councillors in their ward and can be used on supplementing funding for public services for the benefit of the community and capital schemes. The previous year’s unused budget has been carried forward to the current year.

Councillors Green and Cox of Squires Gate Ward have requested £25,000 be released for the creation of a children’s play area to the rear of the Solaris Centre. This will provide a much needed outdoor facility in the Squires Gate Ward and will compliment the facilities at the Solaris Centre which are used widely by local residents on a daily basis.

The Neighbourhood Services division will provide the resource for supervision and management once the scheme is completed.

The requested funds will be transferred to the Solaris Centre Budget for an order to be placed.

The safety audit is to be undertaken by the Neighbourhood Services division.
